Real Estate Mentorship | Real Broker & Career Guidance | Jessica Baldovinos

Thinking About Real Estate? Before You Choose a Brokerage, Choose Your Foundation.

Why I believe Real Broker + the right mentor can change the trajectory of your real estate career.

By Jessica J. Baldovinos, REALTOR® | Certified Mentor | Real Broker, LLC | NCREL #312309

So… You’re Thinking About Real Estate.

Maybe you've been thinking about getting your real estate license for months.

Maybe you’ve already started the licensing process.

Maybe you’re newly licensed and suddenly realizing that passing the exam was only the beginning.

Or maybe you’re an experienced agent who has realized that your current brokerage isn't giving you the environment, economics, technology, or support you need to build the business you actually want.

Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you're here.

And if you specifically reached out to me about Real Broker or mentorship, I want you to know something before we go any further:

I genuinely appreciate that you thought of me.

I don't take that lightly.

When someone reaches out to me because they are considering joining Real, becoming a new agent, changing brokerages, or simply wants someone to help them understand this business, my number-one goal is to help them make an informed decision that serves their future.

That doesn't mean I'm interested in simply "recruiting" you.

It means I want you to understand:

  • What Real actually offers.
  • What it means to build a real estate business.
  • What mentorship can—and cannot—do for you.
  • What I expect from the agents I mentor.
  • What you should expect from me.
  • And perhaps most importantly…

Whether we are actually the right fit for one another.

Because choosing your brokerage matters.

But choosing the person who will be connected to your professional journey matters, too.

First: Why Real Broker?

Before I tell you why I believe you should consider having me as your mentor and sponsor, I want you to understand why I chose Real.

Real isn't simply a traditional brokerage with a different commission split.

It was built around a different philosophy:

The agent should be at the center of the business.

Real currently operates across all 50 U.S. states plus Washington, D.C., and six Canadian provinces, with more than 36,000 licensed agents across the company. Real is also publicly traded on Nasdaq under REAX.

But numbers aren't the reason I want you to consider Real.

The bigger question is:

What does the model actually give you as an agent?

1. An Agent-Focused Commission Model

Real's standard model currently offers an 85/15 commission split, with no monthly fee, and agents keep 100% of their commission after reaching their applicable cap, subject to the applicable transaction fee and program requirements. Real has different caps depending on the business model.

That matters.

Because when you're building a business, the goal isn't simply:

"How many transactions can I close?"

It's also:

"How much of the business I'm building do I actually get to keep?"

Your brokerage should support your ability to create income—not unnecessarily consume it.

2. The Opportunity to Build More Than Transactional Income

This is one of the areas that makes Real particularly interesting to entrepreneurial agents.

Real provides opportunities for agents to participate in revenue sharing, allowing agents to earn from the growth of their network when program requirements are met.

The current model provides a five-tier revenue-share structure, with potential earnings tied to agents in your network who cap.

That creates a fundamentally different conversation about your career.

You aren't limited to:

Prospect → Client → Transaction → Commission → Repeat

You can also build:

Business → Relationships → Network → Leadership → Long-Term Wealth

And that's a distinction I want every prospective agent to understand.

Revenue share isn't magic money.

It requires relationships, contribution, consistency, and building a network of people who are actually building businesses.

But the opportunity exists.

3. Equity & Ownership Opportunities

Real also provides opportunities for eligible agents to receive or purchase company stock through various programs.

Real currently highlights stock awards connected to production, capping, attraction, and other qualifying milestones, as well as a stock purchase opportunity where eligible agents can invest a portion of their commissions and receive a company contribution/bonus according to the program's terms.

I love the philosophy behind this:

If agents help build the company, there should be opportunities for agents to participate in the value being created.

That is very different from simply receiving a commission check and starting over every month.

4. Technology Designed Around the Agent

Real's technology ecosystem includes reZEN, Real's transaction-management platform, along with Leo, its AI-powered concierge.

Real describes reZEN as the place where transactions, documents, communications, and commissions are connected, while Leo provides AI-powered assistance with things such as transaction information, document reviews, commission questions, and business workflows.

And this matters because your time is one of your most valuable assets.

The less time you spend hunting for documents, trying to figure out where something lives, or manually piecing together your business systems, the more time you can spend:

Building relationships.
Generating business.
Serving clients.
Learning.
Growing.

5. Training & Education

Real also offers Real Academy, with live and on-demand education led by industry professionals.

That gives you another layer of education beyond your state licensing requirements.

And this is important because:

Real estate school teaches you how to get licensed.

It doesn't necessarily teach you how to build a successful business.

Those are two very different things.

6. A Collaborative Culture

Real's stated values include:

Work Hard. Be Kind.

and

We Are Bigger Than Me.

Real describes its culture as collaborative, entrepreneurial, and focused on helping agents grow together.

And honestly?

Culture matters.

Especially when you're new.

You want to be surrounded by people who are willing to share knowledge, answer questions, collaborate, and encourage you to grow.

7. Opportunities Beyond the Traditional Agent Model

Real also has programs and resources designed for different types of businesses, including teams and eligible independent brokerages.

Its current ecosystem includes programs such as ProTeams, Private Label, Real Luxury, Real Wallet, WealthPlan, and integrated mortgage and title services.

So you're not necessarily choosing a brokerage only for the business you're building today.

You're choosing an environment that should be able to grow with you.

But Here's What I Really Want You to Understand…

Joining Real does not automatically make you successful.

Read that again.

A great brokerage cannot compensate for:

  • Lack of discipline.
  • Lack of prospecting.
  • Lack of follow-through.
  • Poor communication.
  • Inconsistent effort.
  • Refusal to learn.
  • Refusal to accept feedback.
  • Lack of professionalism.

Real can give you tools, economics, technology, resources, and opportunity.

But you still have to build the business.

That's where mentorship becomes so important.

Why Choosing Your Sponsor & Mentor Matters

When you join a brokerage, you're making a business decision.

When you choose your sponsor, you're making a relationship decision.

And I want prospective agents to understand something that isn't always emphasized during recruitment:

Choose the person—not just the brokerage.

Because if you're joining Real under a sponsor, that relationship can remain connected to you for as long as both of you remain affiliated with Real.

That's a long time.

You should ask:

Do I trust this person?

Do they actually want to see me succeed?

Will they answer my questions?

Will they tell me the truth—even when it's not what I want to hear?

Do they have a system for helping new agents?

Are they actually available?

Do they have experience I can learn from?

Do their values align with mine?

Will they help me become independent rather than dependent upon them?

Those questions matter.

Why Choose Me?

If you're reading this because you reached out to me specifically, I want to start there.

Thank you.

I appreciate the confidence behind that decision.

My commitment isn't to build your business for you.

My commitment is to teach you how to build it.

I believe mentorship should create competence, confidence, and independence.

Not dependency.

My goal is for you to eventually look at a transaction, a client situation, a negotiation, a contract, a lead, or a business decision and think:

"I know what I'm doing."

That's the win.

Introducing the Real Success Blueprint™

The Real Success Blueprint™ is my proprietary real estate mentorship and professional-development framework designed to bridge the gap between getting licensed and confidently building a real estate business.

Because here's what I know:

You can pass the licensing exam and still have absolutely no idea how to run a real estate business.

That's not a criticism.

It's reality.

Licensing education teaches you the laws, rules, principles, and fundamentals necessary to practice.

But then comes the real world.

Finding clients.

Having conversations.

Building a database.

Generating leads.

Conducting consultations.

Representing buyers.

Representing sellers.

Writing offers.

Understanding contracts.

Managing deadlines.

Navigating inspections.

Communicating with lenders, attorneys, other agents, and clients.

Negotiating.

Marketing yourself.

Managing your time.

Building systems.

Creating consistency.

That's the business.

What You'll Learn

The Real Success Blueprint combines:

Business Launch

Build the foundation before you chase transactions.

Business Planning

Define your goals, vision, business model, and direction.

Technology & Systems

Learn the tools and systems you'll use to operate efficiently.

CRM & Database Management

Begin building an actual business asset—not just collecting contacts.

Lead Generation

Learn how business is actually created.

Buyer Representation

Learn to educate, guide, communicate, advocate, and represent buyers through the process.

Seller Representation

Develop the knowledge and systems required to represent listing clients professionally.

Contracts & Transactions

Understand what happens after the client says, "Let's do it."

Marketing

Build a professional presence and learn how to market yourself and your business.

Professional Growth

Develop the habits, communication skills, judgment, and confidence required for a long-term career.

This Isn't Just "Training."

The Blueprint is structured around:

Education → Implementation → Accountability → Coaching → Growth

Our weekly rhythm includes training, demonstrations, role play and assignments, followed by implementation, prospecting and practice, and then accountability and progress review.

Because knowledge doesn't create confidence by itself.

Application does.

Your First Three Transactions Matter

My required mentorship continues through your first three completed transactions.

The compensation structure is intentionally aligned with successful closings:

First closing — 40%

Second closing — 25%

Third closing — 15%

Compensation is earned only when a transaction successfully closes.

After that, agents who want continued coaching, accountability, and business-development support may elect to continue in the extended mentorship program at 10% per closed transaction while participating.

The complete terms and responsibilities are contained in the formal Mentorship Agreement.

And I Want to Be Very Clear About Something.

Mentorship is a partnership.

I will:

  • Provide structured training.
  • Share practical experience.
  • Answer questions.
  • Offer honest feedback.
  • Review situations with you.
  • Help you develop professional confidence.
  • Hold you accountable.
  • Celebrate your progress.

But I expect you to:

  • Show up prepared.
  • Complete assignments.
  • Ask questions.
  • Communicate proactively.
  • Track your progress honestly.
  • Maintain professionalism.
  • Be coachable.
  • Take ownership of your growth.

Great mentors provide guidance. Great mentees take action.

That's one of the principles at the heart of my program.

What If You're Not Licensed Yet?

That's okay.

In fact, this is exactly when you should be thinking about these things.

If you're considering getting your real estate license, don't wait until you've passed your exam to start thinking about your business.

Start asking questions now:

What kind of agent do I want to become?

What kind of clients do I want to serve?

How am I going to generate business?

What brokerage environment fits me?

Who will I learn from?

What systems will I need?

How will I create consistency?

What will I do when the excitement of getting licensed wears off?

Because the license is not the destination.

The license is your permission to begin.

Your business is what you build afterward.

Maybe You're Not Looking for a "Job."

Maybe you're looking for:

  • More autonomy.
  • A career you can build around your goals.
  • An opportunity to become an entrepreneur.
  • A business that can eventually produce multiple income streams.
  • A career where relationships matter.
  • The ability to build something that belongs to you.
  • An opportunity to develop investment knowledge alongside your real estate career.

If that's you, real estate may be worth exploring.

But go into it with your eyes open.

Real estate is a business.

It's not HGTV.

It's not simply showing pretty houses.

It's not just posting on social media.

And it certainly isn't "easy money."

It's a profession.

And I want to help you approach it like one.

Before You Join Real Under Me, Let's Talk.

This is important.

I don't want you joining simply because I asked you to.

And I don't want to mentor you simply because you signed an agreement.

I want us to have a conversation first.

We'll talk about:

  • Why you're interested in real estate.
  • Your goals.
  • Your experience.
  • Your expectations.
  • Your business vision.
  • What you need from a mentor.
  • What I expect from my mentees.
  • How the Real Success Blueprint works.
  • What Real can offer you.
  • Whether mentorship with me makes sense for you.

Because we're choosing each other.

I want you to feel confident about that decision.

And I want to know that I can genuinely help you.

Your Real Success Starts With a Decision.

Every successful business begins with a decision to build it intentionally.

That's the foundation of the Real Success Blueprint.

And here's the part I want you to remember:

Your success will never be determined by what you know alone.

It will be determined by what you consistently do.

If you're willing to learn, willing to work, willing to accept coaching, willing to be accountable, and willing to take ownership of your future…

I'll meet you there.

Let's build your business—intentionally.

One Last Thing Before We Work Together

After our initial conversation, I will not automatically send you a Mentorship Agreement to sign.

I want us to meet first.

I want you to understand the program.

I want you to ask questions.

And I want both of us to determine whether this is the right professional relationship.

If we agree that we're a good fit, then I'll provide the Mentorship Agreement for signature and we'll begin the onboarding process.

That's intentional.

Because I don't want a roster full of mentees.

I want to build successful agents.
